Physical and Chemical Properties | Chemical formula (NH4)2. Molecular weight 68.14. Light yellow crystals (>-18 ℃) or colorless liquid, with hygroscopicity. Toxic. Decomposition before melting point. Easily soluble in cold water, alkaline aqueous solution, hot water decomposition, soluble in ethanol, alkali solution, soluble in liquid ammonia. Long-standing yellow, with hydrogen sulfide and ammonia odor. Easy to decompose, in the air quickly into polysulfide and thiosulfate, only in less than 0 deg C and dry air is stable, it is often formulated into aqueous solution, commercial products mostly ammonium sulfide solution. Preparation Method: by hydrogen sulfide gas and ammonia reaction, can also be obtained by sodium hydrosulfide and ammonium sulfate solution and ammonia reaction. Purposes: ammonium sulfide can be used as chromatographic analysis reagent, thallium trace analysis reagent, photographic chromogenic reagent, Mercury thickening method of blackening agent, nitrocellulose denitration agent, chemical analysis and purification of important reagents, it is used as a regenerant after desulfurization of activated carbon in the production of chemical fertilizer. |

inorganic sulfide | ammonium sulfide is a kind of inorganic sulfide which is widely used in China's chemical industry, we know that heavy metal sulfides are difficult to dissolve in water, and even difficult to dissolve in non oxidizing acids, with hydrogen sulfide or soluble sulfides, such as sodium sulfide, ammonium sulfide, and metal ions, poorly soluble sulfides can be precipitated from solution, and the reaction equation is as follows: CuSO4 H2S = cus↓ H2SO4;MnSO4 (NH4)2S = mns↓ (NH4)2SO4. |
Use | hard acid fiber dehardening agent, drop analysis of thallium. Reagent for analysis and photography. used as chromatographic reagent |
production method | 1.? Distilled water was heated to boiling to remove carbon dioxide, and aqueous ammonia (chemically pure, 25% to 28%) was added to prepare an 8% aqueous ammonia solution. The industrial sodium sulfide is broken into small pieces, and industrial hydrochloric acid is added to the hydrogen sulfide generator to react: the generated hydrogen sulfide gas is washed with distilled water, and then the above 8% ammonia solution is passed to saturation: the qualified ammonium hydrosulfide solution is added to the same volume of 8% ammonia water, and the reaction is to obtain ammonium sulfide solution: if the content is less than 16.5% ~ 20%, the ammonium hydrosulfide solution can be added again until qualified. |
