1217746-03-6 - Introduction
Lamivudine-15N2,13C(Lamivudine-15N2,13C) is a metabolically labeled compound which is an alanine nucleoside analog. Some atoms in its chemical structure are replaced by the stable isotopes 15N and 13C.
Lamivudine, a ribonucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, is used as an antiviral agent, particularly to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections. It can inhibit the replication and spread of the virus by preventing the reverse transcription process of the virus.
Lamivudine-15N2, the preparation method of 13C is usually to use 15N and 13C labeled compounds as raw materials in the synthesis process. These labeled compounds can be combined with other compounds by chemical reactions to form lamivudine molecules with 15N2 + 13C labeling.
In terms of safety, lamivudine is generally considered relatively safe at normal doses, but there are still some potential side effects and risks. Common side effects include headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, muscle pain, and insomnia. In addition, rare but severe side effects such as rash, abnormal liver function, and lactic acidosis may occur. Therefore, when using lamivudine, the recommendations of the doctor should be followed and the appearance of any adverse reactions should be closely monitored.
