1219803-70-9 - Introduction
o-Anisidine-d7 (o-Anisidine-d7) is a deuterated compound with the chemical formula C6D7NO. It has the same structure as O-methoxyaniline (o-Anisidine) except that the hydrogen atoms in it are replaced by deuterium atoms.
o-Anisidine-d7 is an organic compound with an Ortho methoxy group and an amine group. It is a colorless to yellowish crystalline solid which is insoluble in water at ordinary temperature and soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, methanol and dimethylthionamide.
o-Anisidine-d7 are primarily used as standards and internal references in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis. It can be used for the correction of hydrogen and carbon spectra to determine the chemical shifts of hydrogen and carbon atoms in other compounds. It is also used in pharmaceutical research, organic synthesis and catalytic reactions.
Methods of making o-Anisidine-d7 generally involve the reaction of a deuterated chemical reagent and a reactant. A commonly used method is to react sodium or potassium deuteride with deuterated phenylmercuric, and then react the resulting deuterated benzyl alcohol with O-nitrobenzene to give O-nitroaniline-d7. Finally, the O-nitroaniline-d7 is reduced to give o-Anisidine-d7.
Regarding safety information, o-Anisidine-d7 is potentially dangerous. It may be irritating to the skin, eyes and respiratory system and may be toxic to the reproductive system and liver. Therefore, when using this compound, correct experimental procedures and personal protective measures should be followed, and it should be ensured that the operation is carried out in a well-ventilated laboratory environment.
