overview | aluminum sulfide yellow powder or crystal, gray when mixed with excess aluminum, with the odor of hydrogen sulfide. The relative density is 2.02, the melting point is 1100 ℃, the boiling point is 1500 ℃ (sublimation in nitrogen), and slightly dissociated. Hydrolyzed in water or in humid air to produce hydrogen sulfide and aluminum hydroxide. Soluble in acid, insoluble in ketone. It can be reduced by iron or hydrocarbons to produce aluminum, and react with sulfur dioxide to produce sulfur and aluminum sulfate. |
use | aluminum sulfide yellow powder or crystal, gray when mixed with excess aluminum, with the odor of hydrogen sulfide. It can be reduced by iron or hydrocarbons to produce aluminum, and react with sulfur dioxide to produce sulfur and aluminum sulfate. It is used to prepare a waterproof and thermal insulation coating, a concrete waterproofing agent, a carbon fiber reinforced aluminum matrix composite material, and a silicon carbide titanium matrix composite material. |
