132371-14-3 - Introduction
2-Cyano-N-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl)acetamide (2-cyano-N-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl)acetamide) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C10H10N4O. Its properties are as follows:
Appearance: white crystal or crystalline powder;
Melting point: about 142-144 ℃;
Solubility: slightly soluble in water, soluble in common organic solvents;
Stability: Stable at room temperature, but avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat sources.
2-Cyano-N-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl)acetamide has a variety of applications in pharmaceutical and chemical research, including:
1. as an intermediate for the synthesis of drugs and bioactive compounds;
2. can be used for the preparation of pyridine compounds and other organic compounds;
3. Used as a precursor for pesticides and herbicides in the agricultural field.
The preparation method of this compound can be carried out by the following steps:
4-methylpyridine reacts with cyanoacetaldehyde to generate 4-methyl-2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde. 4-Methyl-2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde is then reacted with cyanoethanol to form 2-cyano-N-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl) ethanolamine. Finally, 2-cyano-N-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl) ethanolamine is converted to 2-Cyano-N-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl)acetamide by an acid-catalyzed reaction in the reaction system.
About safety information:
The toxicity of 2-Cyano-N-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl)acetamide has not been adequately evaluated and therefore requires caution. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as lab gloves, protective goggles and face shields during operation. Please seal and keep away from fire and oxidant. In case of accidental contact, flush immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help.
