Use | 3-hydroxy-4-iodobenzaldehyde is white to off-white solid at room temperature and pressure, 3-hydroxy-4-iodobenzaldehyde is a benzaldehyde derivative, which is oxidized by air for a long time to generate corresponding benzoic acid compounds. 3-hydroxy-4-iodobenzaldehyde is commonly used as an intermediate in medical chemistry and organic synthesis, it can be used for synthetic herbicides and plant growth regulators. |
Synthesis method | Add 3-hydroxy -2,4, 6-triiodobenzaldehyde, dry pyridine and catalytic amount to the dry reaction bottle The obtained mixture is stirred for 4 hours in a reflux state. After the reaction is over, the mixture is concentrated in a vacuum state, the residue was then purified by silica gel column chromatography and eluted with (petroleum ether: ethyl acetate = 4:1(v/v)) to obtain the target product 3-hydroxy-4-iodobenzaldehyde.
