Nature:
(R)-BIBOP is a white crystalline solid soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol and dichloromethane. It is highly enantioselective, I .e., has two enantiomers:(R)-BIBOP and (S)-BIBOP. It can be used as a chiral ligand in coordination chemistry and is often used in metal-catalyzed reactions.

Use:
(R)-BIBOP is widely used in organic synthesis reactions, especially in catalytic asymmetric reactions. It can be combined with some transition metals to generate chiral catalysts, which are widely used in olefin hydrogenation, olefin amidation, asymmetric symmetric rearrangement and other reactions.

Preparation Method:
(R)-BIBOP is typically obtained by a two-step synthesis. First, 2,5-diiodobenzoic acid is taken and reacted with xylene to form the corresponding xylylbenzoic acid. The resulting benzoic acid is then reacted with trimethylphosphine in several steps to give the final (R)-BIBOP product.
