Introduction | Tris (2,2,6, 6-tetramethyl-3, 5-heptenoic acid) manganese is an intermetallic organic compound and can be prepared by reacting manganese (II) sulfate monohydrate with 2,2,6, 6-tetramethyl-3, 5-heptanedione. |
preparation | at room temperature, to manganese (II) sulfate monohydrate (1.5g, 9 mmol, 1.0 eq) and 2,2,6, 6-tetramethyl-3, 5-heptanedione (5.0g, 27 mmol, 4.0 eq) in water (30 mL) A concentrated ammonia solution (12 mL) was added dropwise to the mixture with methanol (6 mL), resulting in the immediate formation of a dark olive green/brown precipitate. The precipitate was filtered off, washed with water (3x 10ml) and dried under vacuum for 24 hours to give Mn(dpm)3(4.9g,90%). The X-ray quality crystal of the complex was obtained from isopropanol. The results showed that the structure was tris (2,2,6, 6-tetramethyl-3, 5-heptenoic acid) Manganese, yield (4.9g,90%). |
