15555-71-2 - Introduction
Tris (4,7-diphenyl-1, 10-phenandroline-N1, N10)iron diperchlorate is an iron-containing complex. Its chemical formula is [Fe(Phen)3](ClO4)2, where Phen represents 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline.
The complex is a dark red solid with good thermal and light stability. It is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform, methanol and dichloromethane, and hardly soluble in water.
tris(4,7-diphenyl-1, 10-phenandroline-N1, N10)iron diperchlorate is used as a luminescent material in fluorescent devices and organic electroluminescent devices because of its good luminescent effect and optical properties. In addition, it is also used as a material in electronic devices such as touch screens, liquid crystal displays, and solar cells.
One method of preparing such a complex is by reaction of a ligand with an iron salt. 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline is usually used as a ligand, and tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline-N1,N10)iron salts can be obtained by reaction with Fe2 diperchlorate.
Regarding safety information, this complex has low toxicity. However, due to its high solubility in organic solvents, care should be taken to avoid inhalation of its aerosol or dust. Contact with skin and eyes should also be avoided. Appropriate protective equipment such as gloves and safety glasses should be used during operation. When storing and handling, it should be stored in a dry, sealed container, away from fire and oxidizing agents. It is recommended to use this compound under reasonable laboratory operating conditions.
