16375-88-5 - Introduction
4-Acetamidobenzyl alcohol(4-Acetamidobenzyl alcohol) is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C9H11NO2 and its molecular weight is 165.19g/mol.
Nature:
4-Acetamidobenzyl alcohol is a colorless to pale yellow crystalline solid with a special aroma. It is easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether and chloroform, and slightly soluble in water. It has a melting point of 101-103°C and a boiling point of 309°C.
Use:
4-Acetamidobenzyl alcohol are commonly used in organic synthesis reactions as starting materials or intermediates. It can be used to synthesize other compounds, such as drugs, pesticides, dyes, etc.
Preparation Method:
4-Acetamidobenzyl alcohol can be prepared by reacting p-aminobenzaldehyde with acetic anhydride. In the course of the reaction, 4-acetamidobenzoate was synthesized by esterification of aminobenzaldehyde and acetic anhydride in the presence of anhydrous catalyst. Subsequently, the 4-acetamidobenzoate was converted to 4-Acetamidobenzyl alcohol by hydrogenation reduction.
Safety Information:
4-Acetamidobenzyl alcohol is generally considered to be relatively safe under normal conditions of use. However, as a chemical, the following safety measures need to be taken:
-Avoid contact with skin and eyes, if accidental contact occurs, immediately rinse the corresponding area with plenty of water.
-Avoid inhaling its vapor, and maintain good ventilation during operation.
-When storing, it should be placed in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, away from fire and oxidizing agents.
-Before use, please read the product's safety data sheet and operating instructions carefully, and use it in accordance with the correct operating procedures.
