17156-65-9 - Introduction
(methyldiphenylsilyl)acetylene, chemical formula C6H5C ≡ CSi(CH3)(C6H5)2, often abbreviated as Ph2MeSiC ≡ CH, is an organic silicon compound.
Nature:
(methyldiphenylsilyl)acetylene is a colorless liquid that is volatile at room temperature. It has a lower melting and boiling point and a lower density. Its molecular structure contains ethynyl and phenyl groups, giving the molecule a trumpet-like appearance.
Use:
(methyldiphenylsilyl)acetylene is commonly used as a reagent, Catalyst or raw material in organic synthesis. It has a strong alkaline, can be used to generate carbon negative ions, and participate in the Sn2 substitution reaction. In addition, it can also be used in the synthesis of organosilicon compounds and organometallic complexes and the like.
Method:
There are two main methods for preparing (methyldiphenylsilyl)acetylene: one is to react diphenyldimethylchlorosilane with ethynyl lithium to obtain the product, the other is the reaction of diphenylchloromethylsilane with ethynyllithium to obtain the product.
Safety Information:
(methyldiphenylsilyl)acetylene may be irritating to the skin and eyes, and should be rinsed with plenty of water immediately after contact. It can also be harmful to the water environment, so use it with caution and dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly manner. When using (methyldiphenylsilyl)acetylene, pay attention to the correct operation method and wear protective gloves, goggles and other personal protective equipment.
