2-chloro-1-(ethoxymethyl)-1H-imidazole is an organic compound. The chemical formula is C6H9ClN2O, and the structure contains a chlorine atom, an ethoxy group and a methyl group attached to the imidazole ring.

Its preparation method is generally carried out through the following steps:
1. react with 4-(chloromethyl)-imidazole (4-chloromethylimidazole) and ethanol to generate 2-(chloromethyl)-imidazole (2-chloromethylimidazole).
2.2-chloro-1-(chloromethyl)-1H-imidazole can be obtained by reacting 2-(ethoxymethyl)-imidazole with ethanol.
