Introduction | 2, 2-dimethoxypropane (DMP) appearance colorless transparent liquid, purity blue 99% (GC), moisture <0.5%, relative density 0.8490-0.8520, refractive index 1.3760-1.3790, micro-soluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents, this product is flammable, irritating, hazardous chemicals. |
Application | 2, 2-dimethoxypropane (DMP) it is the key hydroxyl protective agent, dehydrating agent, condensing agent and cyclizing agent in the new development of antibiotic semi-synthesis process. Its protective performance is better than common dichlorosulfoxide, P-methoxybenzaldehyde and so on. DMP as an excellent protective agent, can replace the import of similar products, using it to protect the production of new antibiotics, product quality, high drug efficacy, side effects, fast absorption, low cost. It is widely used in the synthesis of medicines, pesticides, spices and so on. |
purpose | used as protective agent, condensing agent, cyclizing agent, dehydrating agent, etc, there are a wide range of uses in the synthesis of fragrances and the like. it can be used as a hydroxyl group protecting and dehydrating agent, a condensing agent, a cyclizing agent and the like, and is widely used in the synthesis of medicines, pesticides, perfumes and the like. used as pharmaceutical intermediates, mainly used for hydroxyl protection and dehydration |
production method | 2, 2-dimethoxypropane was synthesized by an indirect method. The synthesis of 2, 2-dimethoxypropane from 2,2 dimethyl -1, 3-dioxolane (DMD) from ethylene glycol and acetone was studied. Using dichloromethane as water-carrying agent and anhydrous ferric sulfate as catalyst, DMP was synthesized after DMD was synthesized and exchanged with methanol. The overall yield of the two-step reaction was 60%. |
