2.5-methyl pyridin -2-one is reacted with difluoromethyl sulfuryl fluoride to generate 5-methyl pyridin -2-yl methyl sulfuryl fluoride.
3. 5-methylpyridin-2-ylmethylsulfuryl fluoride reacts with 2-fluoroethanol to generate 2,2-difluoro-2-(5-methylpyridin-2-yl)ethanol.
