use | used in the manufacture of synthetic rubber and polymers. |
Production method | It is obtained by catalytic dehydration of pinacol (tetramethylethylene glycol) through hydrobromic acid. Slowly heat pinacol and 48% hydrobromic acid, and collect the distillate until 95 ℃. The upper liquid is washed with water containing a small amount of hydroquinone, dried with anhydrous calcium chloride, and then fractionated to obtain the finished product. |
