overview | benzoquinone compounds are not only widely used in medical treatment, chemical industry, biological drugs, etc., but also an important organic intermediate. 2, 5-dimethyl-p-benzoquinone can be used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis. If 2, 5-dimethyl-p-benzoquinone is inhaled, please move the patient to fresh air. If the skin is in contact with the skin, remove the contaminated clothes, rinse the skin thoroughly with soapy water and clear water, and see a doctor if you feel uncomfortable. If you are in contact with clear eyes, you should separate the eyelids, rinse with flowing water or normal saline, and see a doctor immediately. If you eat, rinse your mouth immediately, prohibit vomiting, and see a doctor immediately. |
Preparation | The preparation of 2,5-dimethyl-p-benzoquinone is as follows: Method 1: Add 80 grams of 2,5-dimethylphenol in 300 ml. Place dimethylformamide in 500 ml. The resin kettle oxidizer is equipped with air inlet, agitator, thermometer and reflux condenser. 2.5 grams of saladine catalyst was added and the contents were heated to a temperature of 35°C. Air is then introduced at a rate of 0.30 liters/minute. The agitator runs at 277rpm. When the oxidation device reaches a pressure of 150psi, exhaust is started to control the pressure. Continue to oxidize until 2, 6-dimethylphenol is no longer present. By quenching the reaction solution with cold water, filtering and drying, the 2, 5-dimethyl-p-benzoquinone product is separated, which has good purity. 99% yields of dimethylquinone were obtained. method 2: 0.1 mmol2, 5-dimethylphenol, trifluorotoluene, solid catalyst onion carbon, oxidant tert-butyl hydrogen peroxide were added into a closed glass container and mixed, and then sonicated to form a suspension (time is 5min). Among them, the molar ratio of trifluorotoluene 5ml, onion carbon to 2,3, 6-trimethyl to phenol is 6.66:1. The molar ratio of oxidant to 2,3, 6-trimethyl to phenol is 3.6:1. The mixed suspension was placed in an oil bath and heated to 80°C under stirring conditions. After 12 hours of reaction, take out the reaction vessel from the oil bath pan, cool to room temperature, pour out the liquid-solid mixture, and filter it to obtain a solid catalyst and the remaining liquid phase mixture, and separate 2, 5-dimethyl-p-benzoquinone product. |
