Application | 2-(1-adamantyl)-4-bromophenol can be used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis, can be prepared from 4-bromophenol as the reaction raw material, and can be used to prepare 3-(1-adamantyl)-4-benzyloxy bromide. |
preparation | method 1: 4-bromophenol (0.346g,0.002mol) and 1-adamantanol (0.152g,0.001mol) and 1-bromoadamantane (0.022g,0.0001mol)(reagent molar ratio 2:1:0.1) are mixed in an ampoule and heated at 60 ℃ for C2 hours, the reaction mixture was cooled and treated with NaOH solution (2%) to remove excess 4-bromophenol, and the 2-(1-adamantyl)-4-bromophenol product was recrystallized from isooctane with a yield of 0.255g(83%) at mp148-149 °C. |
