2-(DICYCLOHEXYLPHOSPHINOETHYL)TRIMETHYL - Introduction
2-Trimethylammonium Chloride is a chemical compound, also known as CBTAC. The following is an introduction to its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: CBTAC is a white crystalline solid.
-Melting point: Its melting point is approximately 180°C.
-Solubility: It is soluble in water and soluble in some organic solvents.
Use:
-Flame retardant: CBTAC can be used as an additive to flame retardants to improve the flame retardant properties of polymers, coatings and other materials.
-Preservative: It can be used as a water treatment agent and a wood preservative, and has the effect of inhibiting the growth of microorganisms.
Method:
The preparation of CBTAC is generally carried out by the following steps:
1.2-cyclohexylphosphine vinyl dichloride reacts with trimethylamine to generate 2-(dicyclohexylphosphine) ethylamine under alkaline conditions.
2. React the obtained ethylamine with ammonium Chloride to generate 2-(1) Trimethylammonium Chloride.
Safety Information:
- CBTAC is generally considered to be relatively safe, but the following matters still need to be noted:
-When handling, avoid inhaling its dust or solution.
- CBTAC can cause irritation to the eyes, skin and respiratory system, so use appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, goggles and face masks.
-CBTAC should be stored in a sealed, dry and away from ignition sources, avoiding contact with oxidants.
