Application | 2-butanaminoethanol is an alcoholic organic substance, which can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate. |
preparation | to 3-aminopropan-1-ol (1.0g,13.3mmol) and propionaldehyde (0.77g, to a solution of 13.3mmol) in MeOH(20ml) was added MgSO4(6.4g,53.3mmol). After the reaction mixture was stirred at 25 °c for 12 hours, the undissolved material was filtered and the filtrate was treated with NaBH4 (14.6 mg, mmol) under an ice bath. The mixture was then stirred at 25 °c for 1 hour. The reaction solution was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was dissolved in DCM(100ml) and stirred for 5 min. The undissolved material was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give 2-butanaminoethanol (1.0g,64.1%) as a yellow oil. |
