Uses | 2-bromopentane is a useful organic synthetic compound that has been used for selective C- H alkylation with ruthenium catalysts. As an intermediate in organic synthesis, used in drug synthesis. Used as an intermediate in organic synthesis |
Production method | is obtained by the reaction of pentanol -2 and hydrobromic acid. Add hydrobromic acid to the reaction pot, and add sulfuric acid and pentanol -2 under stirring. Heat reflux for 2h. Distillate, collect 115-119 ℃ fractions. After washing with water, dehydrate with anhydrous sodium sulfate and filter to obtain the finished product. |
