2-Di(4-carboxyphenyl)-1 - Introduction
1,2-di (4-carboxyphenyl)-1,2-diphenylethylene, abbreviated as DCPE, is an organic compound. It is a white crystalline solid, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and dimethylformamide.
DCPE has certain fluorescence properties, with excited state and ground state fluorescence emission. This compound has potential applications in organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) and fluorescent materials. Because of its high fluorescence efficiency, various luminescent colors and good stability, it can be used to prepare high-performance organic light-emitting diodes.
The synthesis method of DCPE can be achieved by the condensation reaction of benzoic acid and Phenylpyruvic acid. First, benzoic acid and Phenylpyruvic acid and triethyl phosphite (TEP) are heated and reacted in an alcohol solvent to generate a zinc salt catalyst, and then alkali (such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) and alcohol solvent are added, A condensation reaction is carried out. After completion of the reaction, the base catalyst is neutralized by addition of acid and water to give the DCPE product.
No comprehensive toxicity and harmfulness data is available regarding the safety of DCPE. However, during operation and use, attention should be paid to comply with general laboratory safety regulations, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and avoid inhaling its dust or vapor. If exposed, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help.
