introduction | isooctyl nitrate is an important diesel fuel additive. increasing diesel decane number (CN value) can accelerate diesel ignition and improve engine performance. Fuel additives can change certain properties of fuel, so that it is conducive to improving combustion, in order to reduce the emission of harmful substances in the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines and the purpose of energy saving, without adding devices or changing the structure of vehicles and internal combustion engines, it can improve the fuel energy utilization rate of diesel alcohol at low speeds and low loads, thereby improving combustion efficiency and reducing pollutant emissions. Therefore, it has been gradually widely used in recent years. |
preparation | a production method of isooctyl nitrate, the steps are as follows:(1) 100kg of 98% nitric acid is added to a 1500L reaction kettle, 424kg of 87% sulfuric acid is added under water cooling and vigorous stirring to prepare mixed acid of sulfuric acid and nitric acid;(2) 156kg of isooctyl nitrate is added to 195kg of isooctyl alcohol and mixed evenly;(3) The mixed solution of (2) isooctyl nitrate and isooctyl alcohol is added to the mixed acid of (1). In this process, the adding speed is controlled to keep the reaction temperature between 10-30 ℃, the stirring reaction is completed for 45 minutes, the liquid is still separated, the organic phase is alkaline washed and washed with water to obtain isooctyl nitrate product with 99.1% purity and 98.2% yield. |
