application | 2-hydroxy-3-trifluoromethylpyridine as pyridine derivatives plays an important intermediate role in the chemical industry, medical pesticides and other aspects. |
Preparation | The solution of 2-chloro-3-(trifluoromethyl) pyridine (5g) in a mixture of acetic acid (50ml) and water (5ml) was refluxed for 7 days. Dilute the mixture with water and add 6M NaOH solution until pH 5-6 is reached. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc. The organic phase was dried with Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuum. Dissolve the residue in ethyl acetate and add hexane. The precipitate was filtered out to obtain 2-hydroxy-3-trifluoromethylpyridine. The yield was 4g. MS(ES )m/z 164(MH). |
