production method | a diazonium salt solution was prepared by diazotization of anthranilic ether with sodium nitrite, and added to a lead cyanide solution, followed by addition of benzene. The mixture was left for 10-15H and then subjected to steam distillation. The benzene layer was separated from the distillate, dried with calcium chloride and distilled off. The residue was distilled under reduced pressure to obtain O-methoxybenzonitrile at 120-122.5 ℃(1.2kPa), the yield ranged from 64.5 to 67.3%. |
