Uses | 2-methylindoline is an intermediate for the production of various indole derivatives. Used in organic synthesis. It is an intermediate of dye cationic yellow 7GLL(C.I.Basic Yellow 21,C.I.48060). This dye has good sun resistance and washing fastness, and is mainly used for dyeing acrylic fibers. Used as dye and pharmaceutical intermediate |
Production method | It is obtained by hydrogenation of 2-methylindole. The mixture of 130 parts of 2-methylindole, 100 parts of water and zinc amalgam (prepared from 196 parts of zinc) is heated to 90 ℃, 626 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid are added within 30min, then 90-100 ℃ is heated for 90min, sodium hydroxide solution is added to make it alkaline, distilled, and the distillate is extracted with benzene. 2-Methylindoline. |
