Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing β-naphthoacetic acid, comprising the following steps: In a first step, a? g sodium hydroxide, B? ml water was stirred to dissolve sodium hydroxide and then c? mol β-naphthol rapidly stirred, the second step, add d? mol chloroacetic acid and gradually heated to 80 ℃, at this time all solids dissolved, dark brown solution, continue to stir for 10min There is beige solid precipitation, stop stirring after a little cold, under stirring, 30% HCl solution was added to adjust pH = 1; The solid color was darkened, filtered, washed with water, and recrystallized with benzene or 50% alcohol-water to give white crystals, namely β-naphthyloxyacetic acid. The invention discloses a method for preparing β-naphthoacetic acid, which uses non-organic base and water as solvent to prepare β-naphthoacetic acid. The reaction temperature of the method is 80 ℃, and the reaction temperature is mild and easy to control, the reaction time is only 10min, the raw materials used are cheap, and the yield is as high as 87% when the amount of chloroacetic acid is three times that of β-naphthol.

Abstract:
The cotton growth stimulating hormone β-naphthoacetic acid is one of the outstanding achievements in the research of agricultural chemistry in the Soviet Union in recent years. During the three-year period from 1955 to 1957, the central fertilizer and agricultural soil Experimental Station of the National Institute of Cotton Science of the Soviet Union was dedicated to the search for highly efficient cotton growth stimulating hormone in order to achieve a greater harvest of cotton crops; three years of experimental results show that β-naphthoacetic acid is one of the most efficient growth stimulating hormone. In a pot experiment in 1955, 0.001% β-naphthoacetic acid was used.
