2-PROPOXYBENZOHYDRAZIDE - Introduction
2-Propoxybenzohydrazide (2-propoxybenzohydrazide) is an organic compound with a chemical structure of C10H14N2O2.
Properties: 2-propoxybenzenehydrazide is a white or light yellow solid with typical properties of benzoyl hydrazide. It has a melting point of 80-83°C, is soluble in some organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers and ketones, and is insoluble in water. It is a stable compound that does not readily decompose under routine experimental conditions.
Use: 2-propoxybenzenehydrazide can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. It can be used to prepare other compounds, such as organic dyes, pharmaceutical intermediates, etc. It is also commonly used in fungicides, antioxidants and dyes.
Preparation method: The synthesis of 2-propoxybenzenehydrazide can be obtained by the reaction of benzoyl hydrazide and 2-chloropropanol. First, benzohydrazide is dissolved in a suitable solvent, and an appropriate amount of a base (such as sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate) is added and stirred. Then, 2-chloropropanol was added slowly and the reaction temperature was maintained by heating. After completion of the reaction, cooling, crystallization and filtration gave a solid product of 2-propoxybenzenehydrazide.
Safety information: 2-propoxy benzoic hydrazide in use and storage need to pay attention to safety. It may cause irritation to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Appropriate protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles and respiratory protection, should be worn during operation. Avoid inhalation, ingestion or contact with skin. Maintain good ventilation during use. Disposal of waste shall be carried out in accordance with local regulations.
