Summary:
the aging of nitrile rubber (NBR) samples in 100 ℃ air and the effective viscosity after rapid aging at higher temperatures (150 ℃ and 100 ℃) in dense air atmosphere were compared with the Mooney viscosity measured by capillary viscometer. The results show that the effective viscosity of the two samples is constant, and the test data are reliable. It can be concluded that the test method of rapid aging at higher temperature in argon atmosphere is very suitable for the determination of the viscosity of NBR samples.
