20442-97-1 - Introduction
2-Azidoanisole solution is a solution containing 2-azidoanisole (2-nitrotoluene). The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
2-Azidoanisole is a colorless to light yellow liquid with a low boiling point and specific gravity. It is in a liquid state at room temperature and can be volatile.
Use:
2-Azidoanisole is commonly used as a substrate or reagent in chemical synthesis. One of the main uses is in organic synthesis as a precursor for alkyl, aryl, alkynyl or acyl lithium tert-butylamide forming reagents. In addition, 2-Azidoanisole can also be used as a nitrogen source in organic synthesis.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of 2-Azidoanisole is generally obtained by reacting 2-bromotoluene with an ammonium ester in toluene. Subsequently, the product can be hydrolyzed by adding hydrochloric acid to give 2-Azidoanisole.
Safety Information:
Note the following safety precautions when using 2-Azidoanisole:
1. 2-Azidoanisole is a chemical substance and should avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes to avoid irritation or injury.
2. in use, should be in a well ventilated place to operate, avoid inhalation of gas or steam.
3. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as lab gloves, safety glasses and lab coats.
4. Avoid smoking, eating, or using 2-Azidoanisole in places where food and beverages are stored.
5. Follow local environmental and health regulations when handling or disposing of 2-Azidoanisole.
