22117-86-8 - Introduction
DIBROMOMETHANE-D2(DIBROMOMETHANE-D2) is an organic compound whose chemical formula is CH2D2Br2. It is a colorless liquid that smells like chloroform.
One of the main uses of DIBROMOMETHANE-D2 is as a solvent for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). It can form stable complexes with certain organic compounds, thus providing accurate spectra in NMR experiments. In addition, DIBROMOMETHANE-D2 can also be used as a labeling reagent in organic synthesis reactions to help study the reaction mechanism and analyze the structure of compounds.
The method of preparing DIBROMOMETHANE-D2 is by reacting dibromomethane with sodium diazotized or potassium diazotized, and then extracting and separating with heavy water (D2O). This method can be upgraded, that is, the preparation of DIBROMOMETHANE-D2 from ordinary dibromomethane, so as to achieve the purpose of isotope labeling.
Regarding safety information, DIBROMOMETHANE-D2 is less toxic, but it is a flammable liquid that can cause an explosion hazard. Care should be taken to avoid contact with open flames, high temperatures and oxidants during use and storage. At the same time, contact with skin, eyes or inhalation of their vapors may cause irritation and injury, so wear appropriate personal protective equipment and ensure good ventilation during operation.
