268218-94-6 - Introduction
[4-(phenylcarbonyl)phenyl]boronic acid is an organic compound with the chemical formula C13H11BO3. It is a white crystalline solid, readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and dimethylformamide.
The use of this compound is very extensive. It is commonly used in carbon-carbon bond formation reactions in organic synthesis, especially in Suzuki coupling reactions. This reaction occurs by reacting a substrate of organic matter with a Phenylboronic acid analog (such as [4-(phenylcarbonyl)phenyl]boronic acid) to form a carbon-carbon bond linkage.
[4-(phenylcarbonyl)phenyl]boronic acid can be prepared by reacting Phenylboronic acid with benzoyl chloride. First, the Phenylboronic acid was dissolved in ether, then benzoyl chloride was slowly added and the reaction was stirred at room temperature. After completion of the reaction, it was washed with aqueous nitric acid, concentrated and crystallized to obtain the product.
Regarding safety information,[4-(phenylcarbonyl)phenyl]boronic acid is not a highly toxic substance, but it is still necessary to take appropriate safety measures during operation. It is an irritant substance and may cause irritation to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Wear protective gloves, goggles and protective mask during operation. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes, and make sure to operate in well-ventilated conditions. If exposed or inhaled, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical help.
