hydrazine-15N2 dihydrochloride is a compound containing the nitrogen isotope 15N with the chemical formula (15N2)H4N2 · 2HCl. It is a colorless crystal or crystalline powder with a pungent odor.
hydrazine-15N2 dihydrochloride is mainly used for isotope labeling to study the metabolism and distribution of hydrazine in organisms. It can also be used as a chemical reagent for the synthesis of other organic compounds, such as biologically active molecules.
The preparation of hydrazine-15N2 dihydrochloride can be achieved in a variety of ways. One commonly used method is to heat-react benzylcoumarin (benzil hydrazone) with 15n-labeled ammonia.
