Use | Application 3, 3-diphenylpropyl-2-propene-1-ol can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate. Traditionally, the reduction of carbonyl compounds to the corresponding alcohols has been achieved by the reduction of stoichiometric hydrides such as NaBH4, LiAlH4, or by metal catalysts catalyzing the reaction of carbonyl compounds with hydrogen. However, these reagents have many disadvantages. NaBH4 and LiAlH4 are very sensitive to air and moisture, and the use of hydrogen as a hydrogen source requires more demanding equipment and technology. |
