3,6,9-trioxaundecane - Uses and production methods
Uses It is used as an oil-water mixed solvent for the printing and dyeing of nitrocellulose and wool fabrics and an extractant for uranium ore. It is also a high boiling point reaction medium. The oral LD50 to mice was 4970mg/kg.
Uses Used as organic synthetic solvent, nitro paint composition for brushing, leveling agent for fiber and leather, leveling agent for photographic printing, etc.
Use high boiling point reaction medium. Solvent. The gas chromatography stationary solution (the maximum service temperature is 30 ℃, the solvent is ether), the selectivity is similar to polyethylene glycol.
The production method is obtained by the reaction of diethylene glycol and ethanol. Another method is to react diethylene glycol monoethyl ether with bromoethane in the presence of metal sodium (or sodium hydroxide).
