use | 1-(3-hydroxypropyl) pyrrolidine can be used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and chemical synthesis. |
Preparation | At 0°C, potassium carbonate (269g) and pyrrolidine (200mL) were sequentially added to the THF solution (500mL) of 3-bromopropanol (200g). After stirring the reaction solution at room temperature for 15 hours, ethyl acetate (500mL) was added and stirred for another 1 hour at room temperature. The resulting reaction solution was filtered with diatomite and the solids on the diatomite were washed with ethyl acetate. The washing liquid and filtrate were concentrated under reduced pressure, ethyl acetate (500mL) was added to the resulting residue, then stirred for 1 hour and filtered through diatomite. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by distillation (boiling point: 62°C, 1mmHg) to obtain 1-(3-hydroxypropyl) pyrrolidine (156g, yield 95%). |
