diethyl (ethoxyacetyl) phosphate is an organophosphorus compound with the chemical formula C8H17O4P. It is a colorless liquid with a special smell.
diethyl (ethoxyacetyl)phosphonate is commonly used as a phosphating agent, buffer and catalyst. It can be used in the acyl transfer reactions of carboxylic esters in organic synthesis reactions and in the synthesis of other phosphates.
Preparation of diethyl (ethoxyacetyl) phosphate can be obtained by reacting ethyl bromoacetate with triethylphosphine under alkaline conditions. The reaction requires attention to safety, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and operate under well-ventilated conditions.
