Method:

2. Reacting methyl benzoate with sodium nitrite to generate methyl 4-Nitroso -3,5-dimethyl benzoate.
3.4-Nitroso -3,5-dimethyl Benzoic acid methyl ester is reacted with imine to generate Benzoic acid,4-amino-3,5-dimethyl-, methyl ester.
