3161-51-1 - Introduction
3-(Dibenzylamino)-1-propanol (3-(dibenzylamino)-1-propanol) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C12H17NO and a molecular weight of 191.27g/mol. It is a colorless to yellowish liquid with a strong amine odor.
The main use of 3-(dibenzylamino)-1-propanol is as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is commonly used to catalyze the reduction of amines, and can also be used as a stabilizer and an intermediate for redox catalysts. In addition, it can also be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of anticancer drugs and other drugs.
The method for preparing 3-(dibenzylamino)-1-propanol is usually to react an appropriate amount of N,N-diactivated benzylamine with propylmagnesium bromide to obtain the product and then carry out crystallization purification.
3-(Dibenzylamino)-1-propanol has certain safety, but some precautions are still needed. It is a strong irritating compound to eyes and mucous membranes, and direct contact should be avoided when using it. During operation, appropriate protective measures should be taken, such as wearing chemical protective glasses, gloves and protective clothing. At the same time, it should be stored in a sealed container, and away from heat, fire and flammable substances.
