32778-37-3 - Introduction
2-Butanone, 4-(dimethylamino)-3-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-(also known as DMAD) is an organic compound. The following is a description of its nature, use, formulation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: DMAD is a colorless to pale yellow liquid.
-Solubility: DMAD has low solubility in water, but it is soluble in most organic solvents, such as ethanol and ether.
-Boiling point: The boiling point of DMAD is about 110-114 ℃.
-Melting point: The melting point of DMAD is about -68°C.
-Nature: DMAD has a pungent smell and is easy to volatilize.
Use:
- DMAD is often used as a reagent in organic synthesis to introduce methyl and amine functional groups in chemical reactions.
-It can be used as a precursor for dyes and pigments, and can also be used for photosensitization and sensitization of dyes.
- DMAD can also be used as a chemical analysis reagent, for example, as a fluorescent probe in spectral analysis.
Method:
- DMAD can be prepared by reacting dimethylamine and n-propyl sodium in 2-butanone.
Safety Information:
- DMAD Care should be taken to avoid inhalation, contact with skin and eyes.
-Wear chemical protective gloves and goggles when using.
-If the skin or eyes are touched by the outside, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical help.
- DMAD should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from open flames and high temperatures.
