367927-39-7 - Introduction
N-Succinimidyl 6-(3-Maleimidopropionamido) Hexanoate(SMPH Crosslinker)(N-Succinimidyl 6-(3-Maleimidopropionamido) Hexanoate, abbreviated as SMPH Crosslinker) is a commonly used crosslinking agent. Its structure contains succinimide, maleimide and hexanoate groups.
Nature of SMPH Crosslinker:
-Appearance: White solid
-Molecular weight: 354.38g/mol
-Melting Point: 128-132°C
-Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), dimethylformamide (DMF), etc., insoluble in water.
Use of SMPH Crosslinker:
SMPH Crosslinker are widely used in the field of biotechnology, the main applications include:
-As a cross-linking agent for biological macromolecules such as proteins, antibodies or peptides to study the structure and interaction of proteins and antibodies.
-In biomarkers and fluorescent staining, it is used to specifically link reporter molecules (such as fluorescent dyes or biotin) to target molecules (such as antibodies or proteins).
-Used in the preparation of biological materials, drug delivery systems and biosensors.
Preparation of SMPH Crosslinker:
In general, the preparation method of SMPH Crosslinker is as follows:
1. In a suitable organic solvent, succinimide (NHS) is reacted with hexanoic acid (Hexanoic Acid) to give N-succinimidyl hexanoate (NHS-Hexanoate).
2. Reaction of NHS-Hexanoate with maleimidopropionyl chloride (3-Maleimidopropionyl Chloride) in an alkyl chloride such as dichloromethane to give the SMPH Crosslinker.
Safety Information:
- SMPH Crosslinker is a chemical product, please strictly follow the laboratory safety procedures.
-Avoid contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract, and avoid inhaling dust.
-such as accidental contact, should immediately rinse with plenty of water, if necessary, seek medical treatment.
-Store in an airtight container against humidity and high temperature.
-Do not use inside the human body, only for scientific research laboratories and other related fields.
