2-Mercaptopyrazine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H4N2S. It is a white crystalline solid with a pungent odor. The following is a description of the nature, use, preparation and safety information of 2-Mercaptopyrazine:

Use:
- 2-Mercaptopyrazine can be used as an important intermediate in organic synthesis and can play an important role in the synthesis of drugs and pesticides.
-It can be used to prepare pyrazine dyes, pharmaceutical intermediates and coordination compounds.
Preparation Method:
2-Mercaptopyrazine can be synthesized:
1. Reaction of 2-bromopyrazine with sodium hydrogen sulfate in water/ethanol to give 2-Mercaptopyrazine. The reaction conditions are generally such that the reaction is stirred at room temperature.
2. 2-Mercaptopyrazine can also be obtained by reacting 2-chloropyrazine with thiol under alkaline conditions.
