chemical properties
crystalline powder. Melting point 286 ℃ (decomposition); Solubility at room temperature (g/kg): dichloromethane 10, isopropanol 50, water 0.078. Very unstable to light.
production method
Furfural is reacted with a concentrated solution of sodium bisulfite to form sodium furyl hydroxymethane sulfonate. Then in ethanol, it reacts with o-phenylenediamine to form Mai Sui Ning. Add 17kg of water and 16.4kg 87.6% sodium bisulfite into a glass-lined reaction pot, stir for 20min, add 12.6kg of furfural in stages, control the temperature not to exceed 50 ℃, stand for 2-2.5h, generate light yellow thick slurry of sodium furan methane sulfonate (adduct), and cool down to below 30 ℃. Add 100kg of 92% ethanol in another reaction pot, stir and raise the temperature to 20-30 ℃, add 12.2kg of 85.6% o-phenylenediamine, and stir until it is completely dissolved. Add the above adduct, slowly raise the temperature to about 85 ℃, reflow for 4 hours, then stir to raise the temperature, distill and recover 75-80kg of ethanol, and discharge the material while hot under stirring. Standing, centrifugal filtration, water washing, drying, to Mai Suining.
