First, methylaminimidazole (N-methylaminomethylimidazole) was prepared by reaction of formaldehyde, ammonia and 2-pyridyl-1-methyl-imidazole (PMI) under alkaline conditions. The N-methylaminomethylimidazole is then reacted with 2-chloropyridine to give 4-chloro-5-methylaminoimidazole (4-chloroo-5-(methylamino)methylimidazole). Finally, through nucleophilic substitution reaction, 4-chloro-5-methylaminimidazole and amino chloride were used as raw materials to obtain 6-chloro-N ~ 4 ~-methylpyrimidine-4,5-diamine.
