4-DIMETHYLAMINO-1-BUTANOL - Introduction
Dimethylbutanol (also known as 2-methyl-2-butanolamine) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H13NO.
Properties: Dimethylbutanol is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor. It is soluble in water and most organic solvents. The compound is basic and can react with an acid to form a salt. It has a melting point of -30°C and a boiling point of 147°C.
use: dimethyl ammonia butanol is widely used in chemical industry. It is an important amine compound that can be used as a solvent, surfactant, flame retardant, gelling agent and reducing agent. It has applications in electroplating, dyes, pigments, pesticides and pharmaceutical production.
Preparation Method: Dimethylammobutanol can be obtained by reacting 1,4-butanediol with dimethylamine. During the reaction, dimethylamine was gradually added to 1,4-butanediol, fully stirred and heated, and finally subjected to steam distillation and rectification to obtain a pure product.
Safety Information: Dimethylbutanol is irritating and should be avoided in contact with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate protective gloves and glasses when in use. Avoid inhaling its vapor or dust, and make sure to use it in a well-ventilated place. If ingested or inhaled by mistake, please seek medical attention in time.
