Method:
- 7-Bromo-1H-indene can be prepared by reacting indene with hydrogen bromide. Indene is first dissolved in acetonitrile or acetone and then, after standing for some time, hydrogen bromide is slowly added. The reaction mixture was finally cooled and crystallized to give 7-Bromo-1H-indene.
