1. First, one molecule of 1-butylamine (C? H? N) is reacted with Tetramethylammonium bromide ((CH)? NBr) to obtain tert-butyl trimethylammonium bromide ((CH?) C- Br).
2. T-butyltrimethylammonium bromide is then reacted with bromine to generate the products of the target compound, 1-Butanaminium, 4-bromo-N,N,N-trimethyl-, bromide.
