Abstract:
sodium lauroyl methyl taurate was synthesized by direct condensation from lauric acid and N-methyl taurate sodium. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, Catalyst type and amount, feed ratio and solvent amount on the reaction were investigated. The results showed that the optimum reaction conditions were as follows: the molar ratio of lauric acid to N-methyl taurate sodium was 1.3 ∶ 1, the amount of catalyst boric acid was 2% of the mass of lauric acid, and the amount of solvent was 40% of the mass of lauric acid, 215 C reaction 6 h. Under the above conditions, the conversion of N-methyl taurate sodium can reach more than 95%, and the purity of the crude product can reach more than 98% after recrystallization and drying.

Sodium lauroyl methyl taurate was synthesized from lauroyl chloride and methyl taurate sodium by Schotten-Baumann condensation. The reaction temperature, feed ratio, solvent dosage and other factors were optimized, and the optimum process conditions were obtained.
