442514-22-9 - Introduction
tert-Butyl 3-(methylamino)propylcarbamate, also known as tert-Butyl 3-(methylamino)propylcarbamate, is an organic compound. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Chemical formula: C10H22N2O2
-Molecular weight: 202.29g/mol
-Appearance: colorless liquid
-Melting Point:-42°C
-Boiling Point: 185-187°C
-Density: 0.954g/cm³
-Solubility: Soluble in water and organic solvents
Use:
- tert-Butyl 3-(methylamino)propylcarbamate is often used as a bioactive agent.
-In the synthesis of drugs and pesticides, it can be used as an intermediate or reducing agent.
-In addition, it can also be used in the fields of synthetic polymer materials and surfactants.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of tert-Butyl 3-(methylamino)propylcarbamate is usually carried out by the following steps:
1. tert-Butanol (tert-butanol) reacts with dimethylammonia (dimethylamine) to give 3-(dimethylamino)propanol (3-(dimethylamino)propanol).
2.3-(dimethylamino) propanol reacts with tert-butyl chloroformate (tert-butyl chloroformate) to produce tert-butyl 2-(methylamino) propylchloroformate (tert-butyl 2-(methylamino)propylcarbamate). The reaction conditions may require the addition of certain basic conditions, such as sodium carbonate or potassium carbonate.
3. Finally, tert-butyl 2-(methylamino) propylchloroformate is reacted with tert-butyl carbamate (tert-butyl carbamate) to produce the tert-Butyl 3-(methylamino)propylcarbamate.
Safety Information:
- tert-Butyl 3-(methylamino)propylcarbamate need to take appropriate safety measures when using and storing.
-It is a flammable liquid and should be kept away from open flames and heat sources.
-Contact with skin and eyes may cause irritation and direct contact should be avoided.
-Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as lab gloves and safety glasses during operation.
-If taken by mistake or inhaled, seek medical attention immediately. If there is a large amount of exposure, the affected area should be cleaned promptly and medical help should be sought.
