Physical and Chemical Properties | Bioactive Carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester (CFSE, 5(6)-Carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester, CFDA-SE, 5(6)-CFDA N-succinmidyl ester) is a fluorescent cell dye. CFSE has cell permeability. Through its succinimide group, it is covalently bound to intracellular lysine residues and other amine sources. |
Use | A Non-fluorescent cell permeant amine-reactive probe for long term tracing of cell. |

in vitro studies
The binding of CFDA-SE fluorescent dye to cells is very stable. It has little toxic effect on cells and does not affect the cell viability of labeled cells. CFDA-SE is a suitable marker for cell labeling in cell experiments. After labeling, it can be maintained in cells for 24 hours, which is suitable for long-term observation of labeled cells.
In vivo studies
In vivo experiments, it is feasible to label cells with CFSE, and there is almost no toxicity to labeled cells and neighboring cells. It is proved by T cell recovery of peripheral lymphoid organs that CFSE has certain advantages in relatively long-term migration experiments.
