use | 5-methoxyisatin is an organic pigment and can be used as a biological stain. |
synthesis method | using water as solvent, at 90 ℃, 5-methoxyaniline reacts with chloral hydrate and hydroxylamine hydrochloride for 3.5 h to obtain p-methoxyisonitroacetanilide with a yield of 95%. At 92 ℃, concentrated H2SO4(75%) was cyclized, and 5-methoxyisatin was obtained after hydrolysis with a yield of 88%. Using this method to synthesize 5-methoxy isatin, the reaction is simple and efficient. |
